NY Strip

2020 was a beast, but with some pivots and creative thinking, we were able to stay afloat and give people some ESR recipes to help get them through. With the launch of our new site, we're adding some of the recipes from our Meal Kits to help people continue to make excellent food at home for themselves and their loved ones.

The NY Strip is one of Chef Ethan's favorite cuts, and in this video, he'll show you how to grill it perfectly every time!

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 12oz. Prime New York Strip
  • Kosher Salt
  • Black Pepper (fresh ground recommended)
  • Salmoriglio Sauce (olive oil, lemon zest, oregano, garlic, cracked pepper)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Pre grill and get hot (750°-800°)
  2. Pat steaks with a clean paper towel until very dry
  3. Generously season the steak with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  4. Place the steak on the grill and cook for 5 minutes on each side. Keep the lid open and avoid cooking directly in flames
  5. Remove the steaks from the grill and allow them to rest for at least 15 minutes. Don’t worry about temperature; this is a crucial step to keeping your steak juicy
  6. Slice the steak against the grain into several even pieces depending on personal preference
  7. Top the steak with Salmoriglio sauce • Serve and enjoy!
